Foothill Community Democrats (FCD) will focus its efforts within the 59th and 44th California Assembly Districts. It will seek to publicize activities and to build its membership from registered Democrats within the districts in an effort to affect local, state and federal politics. The Club may also become involved with activities outside of the districts (if so voted by its membership). The Club will develop a work plan (including action items with evaluation criteria) which shall be evaluated by the membership periodically.
The 44th Assembly District includes the cities of Pasadena, South Pasadena, Temple City, Duarte, and La Cañada Flintridge; the communities of Altadena and Mayflower Village; portions of Arcadia and Monrovia; and the Los Angeles neighborhoods of Eagle Rock, Glassell Park and Highland Park. The area is nestled up against the San Gabriel Mountains foothills, the Angeles Crest National Forest and the Arroyo Seco. The district is traversed by the 210, 2 and 110 Freeways (as listed on Assemblymember Liu’s website).
The 59th Assembly District includes: Hesperia, Apple Valley, Glendora, Claremont, La Verne, San Bernardino, San Dimas, Monrovia, Highland, Sierra Madre, Arcadia, Bradbury, and Redlands (as listed on Assemblymember Mountjoy’s website).
